Your €20 GPM monthly subscription costs you €10 after your employer's contribution.

A legal obligation

Since 2009, all employers have been required to reimburse at least 50% of the cost of a public transport subscription.

Who is affected?

All public and private sector employees are eligible.
The eligible statuses are as follows:

Permanent contract (CDI)
Fixed-term contract (CDD)
Temporary workers
Apprentices
Interns (if the internship lasts more than 2 months)

Eligibility conditions

The eligibility conditions for the transport subsidy are as follows:

The commute between home and work must be made by public transport or via the bike rental service
The subscription must be in the employee's name
The employee must be able to provide proof to the employer

The following are excluded:

commutes by personal car (unless there is a company agreement)
single tickets
employees whose accommodation is at the workplace

Your employer is best placed to present you with the conditions for awarding the transport allowance in your company, business, local authority, or other structure.
